Orana Park trip

 Hey readers!

Yesterday monday august the 16th our class went to orana park we had to be at school before 9:00 after we arrived we had to get into other peoples cars to get to orana park it took about 10 - 15minutes to get their so after we arrived at orana park we meet up with to ladys that work their their names were Bethany and Sarah so they took us around orana park and talked alot about the animals we learnt alot of facts about all the animals at orana park.

Facts

1.Lions: Lions live in a tribe and a tribe is a gruop of lions and lions that look after each other a lion that has a mane is the lion the goes and hunts for food and the female is the one looks after her cubs if another animal goes to try an attack the female and the cubs the male will attack the animal and protect his family then it will eat the dead animal. Fact a lions claw is longer then your middle finger.

3.Kiwis: Kiwis like to be in the dark because if shine a light on their eyes it can really damage their eyes they use their beek to snif for food in the ground like worms and other insects if they do find food in the ground they will use their nose to dig and get the food out their feathers on the out side our rough and hard and the feathers 

8.Giraffes: Giraffes are the tallest land animal if they are going to try and get food off the ground they will do the splits to get the food off the ground and when they go and eat the leaves off the branches they wrap their toung around the branch and peel all of the leaves of some times they like to eat hay 

11.Cheetahs: Cheetahs are the most fastest land animal cheetahs can run from 80 - 130 km/h as they are running they do 60 - 100 puffs a minute when they run the legs can stretch up to 7meters

About Sonny Bill Williams life

Sonny Bill Williams ( also known as SBW ) is a professional rugby and rugby league player he is also a heavyweight boxer. Sonny Bill was born on the 3rd of August 1985 in Auckland New Zealand, he often got bullied and being called a “skinny kid” and as a kid he was really shy and scared of everyone. But as a kid he was a naturally good sports man. He started to play Rugby league at the age of 12, and at the age of 17 he was asked to go to Sydney to play for the bulldogs development team, Sonny advanced up the ranks very quickly and by 2004 he was a very skillful rugby league player. Clubs and countries offered him a lot of money to play for them but sony just said “no thanks”. Sonny also represented New Zealand at the 2016 olympics in Rio. Sony boxed professionally with 7 wins and no losses he played for the NZ kiwis and played for the NZ all blacks

He is a former Rugby league and Rugby union player and a heavyweight boxer. Sonny is the second person to represent New Zealand in Rugby union after first playing for New Zealand in rugby league 

1. Where was the first place Sonny Bill played sport professionally? At the age of 17 he was offered a contact to play for the NRL ( National Rugby League ) for the roosters. 

2. What does the phrase “Code hopper” mean in this text? Playing rugby union Rugby league Sevens at the 2016 olympics representing New Zealand 

3.  Describe Sonny’s early life? he often got bullied and being called a “skinny kid” and as a kid he was really shy and scared of everyone. Does he remind you of anyone you know? No. Do you think anyone would have expected him to have such a successful career? Some people might have expected it, but the other people who bullied him thought he would never make it 

4. SBW has used his public profile to raise awareness for refugee children. do you think that it is important for public figures to engage in charity work?  Why or why not? Discuss your reasons. Yes because it is important to help the people in need so they don’t die and to try keep them healthy and strong so they can have a good life when there older, and its important because its helping their community and helping to build a happier society to everyone.

Basketball tournament

Hi guys

Last week we were competing in a basketball tournment it was at pioneer I went with Tini and Ezra we had six games and won one game Mr Matai was our coach for all of the basketball teams  you had to have players on the court and you had to be wearing a mouthgaurd each game was 10mins and the begining I think they would blow a whistle and ring a bell but at the end of the games the would ring a bell we didnt get to practise much at the tournament but we got to practise a bit more at school at the begining of a match as soon as it starts they would throw the ball up and someone would jump up and try and hit the ball back to our team it was mostly Tini doing it and Devontae would jump sometimes but not much. some of the team we were versing were all girl teams some of our players were a little nervous and some others werent while we were at the tournamet we saw alot of people that we in the finals the same school was versing each other in one game I think I scored 5 goals we were able to go up stairs and watch up there there anyone one up there but we just sat there and watched the finals after that Mark bought us all Maltersers to share ad the Ezra and Tini nearly ate all of them and then everyone went back to school with the same people they came with so we got back to school and then all of the basketball teams went into room4 and then we had a little talk and then we all went back to our own classes and then had lunches and thats the end.

Dragon days production

Hi guys!

This term we are going to do a production it is called dragon days a production is like a play but bigger and longer in the play I am the plumber there are nine scenes and I am in all of them apart from scene 6 first done reherses in term 1 this term we are practising our lines and in week 8 we are performing the production there are also people singing.

We usualy practise everyday in the afternoon we are starting to do actions and trying to say all our words without our script our script has all our words that we say and when we say it I have nine lines we are performing the production in the church When we perform the production we will have props and we wont be using our scripts.

Our school has been writing and drawing about dragons we got choose to write about the red dargon, the blue dragon, the green dragon and the white frosty dragon I chose the white frosty dragon so we had to write a 2A sentence which is a sentence with to adjectives and a De:De sentnce and then a noun w and a some others and a position + place subject + action and an are all examples sentence.

Maths learning doubling and halving

This year with miss wilton We are using this new website cslled the maths hub and in the maths hub there are videos and questions and the videos are the learning part and some of the questions are the practise it part and there are other questions that are the prove it part now im on the prove and so we had to use a stratagey and the stratagey that I was using was doubling and halfings

For example: 6 x 50 So you go 3 x 50 = 150 and then 150 + 150 = 300 so 6 x 50 = 300

24 ÷ 4 =12

65 ÷ 5 = 13

30 ÷ 6 = 5

48 ÷ 8 = 6

14 x 50 = 650

20 x 17 = 340

26 x 4 =  104

34 x 5 = 170

Easter Tridum

Hello! 

Juring holy week we made some art so we had to draw pictures the relates to what had happened to jesus or what he did. so we drew two pictures my pictures were the cross with a crown on top of it and my other picture was three crosses on a hill. once we finished drawing them we colored them in with pastel. after we finshed coloring them in with pastel we rulled the peice of paper. so we got our ruler and rulled across the top of the paper every 15cm we had to put a little line. then we made a line rite down the page where the little lines were. when we finshed we cut where the lines were so that made little strips of paper. when I finished doing that I made the picture by putting the pecies of strips where they needed to be. once I finished that I got a bigger sized paper I put the first srip from one of the drawings on the side of the paper. then I got the first peice of paper from the other drawing and then put it next to the other peice of paper thats on the peice of paper. and repeat that then once there all glued. I had to fold up the big peice of paper like a fan then when you look from one side you see one picture then when you look the other way you see the other picture you drew.
