Orana Park trip

 Hey readers!

Yesterday monday august the 16th our class went to orana park we had to be at school before 9:00 after we arrived we had to get into other peoples cars to get to orana park it took about 10 - 15minutes to get their so after we arrived at orana park we meet up with to ladys that work their their names were Bethany and Sarah so they took us around orana park and talked alot about the animals we learnt alot of facts about all the animals at orana park.

Facts

1.Lions: Lions live in a tribe and a tribe is a gruop of lions and lions that look after each other a lion that has a mane is the lion the goes and hunts for food and the female is the one looks after her cubs if another animal goes to try an attack the female and the cubs the male will attack the animal and protect his family then it will eat the dead animal. Fact a lions claw is longer then your middle finger.

3.Kiwis: Kiwis like to be in the dark because if shine a light on their eyes it can really damage their eyes they use their beek to snif for food in the ground like worms and other insects if they do find food in the ground they will use their nose to dig and get the food out their feathers on the out side our rough and hard and the feathers 

8.Giraffes: Giraffes are the tallest land animal if they are going to try and get food off the ground they will do the splits to get the food off the ground and when they go and eat the leaves off the branches they wrap their toung around the branch and peel all of the leaves of some times they like to eat hay 

11.Cheetahs: Cheetahs are the most fastest land animal cheetahs can run from 80 - 130 km/h as they are running they do 60 - 100 puffs a minute when they run the legs can stretch up to 7meters

Sonny Bill Williams

 



About Sonny Bill Williams life
Sonny Bill Williams ( also known as SBW ) is a professional rugby and rugby league player he is also a heavyweight boxer. Sonny Bill was born on the 3rd of August 1985 in Auckland New Zealand, he often got bullied and being called a “skinny kid” and as a kid he was really shy and scared of everyone. But as a kid he was a naturally good sports man. He started to play Rugby league at the age of 12, and at the age of 17 he was asked to go to Sydney to play for the bulldogs development team, Sonny advanced up the ranks very quickly and by 2004 he was a very skillful rugby league player. Clubs and countries offered him a lot of money to play for them but sony just said “no thanks”. Sonny also represented New Zealand at the 2016 olympics in Rio. Sony boxed professionally with 7 wins and no losses he played for the NZ kiwis and played for the NZ all blacks


He is a former Rugby league and Rugby union player and a heavyweight boxer. Sonny is the second person to represent New Zealand in Rugby union after first playing for New Zealand in rugby league 



  1. Where was the first place Sonny Bill played sport professionally? At the age of 17 he was offered a contact to play for the NRL ( National Rugby League ) for the roosters. 

  2. What does the phrase “Code hopper” mean in this text? Playing rugby union Rugby league Sevens at the 2016 olympics representing New Zealand 

  3.  Describe Sonny’s early life? he often got bullied and being called a “skinny kid” and as a kid he was really shy and scared of everyone. Does he remind you of anyone you know? No. Do you think anyone would have expected him to have such a successful career? Some people might have expected it, but the other people who bullied him thought he would never make it 

  4. SBW has used his public profile to raise awareness for refugee children. do you think that it is important for public figures to engage in charity work?  Why or why not? Discuss your reasons. Yes because it is important to help the people in need so they don’t die and to try keep them healthy and strong so they can have a good life when there older, and its important because its helping their community and helping to build a happier society to everyone.
